WOW must just be me......... but I thought there was so much great stuff coming out that still got airplay, bands that are still around today..........

MTV2 over here today I have seen Backyard Baies once and Hardcore Superstar

MTV 2 is alright, the problem is most good bands are not on major labels in the U.S., this cuts them out of the picture at least 90% of the time.
MTV supports the Majors, not the Indies.
Once in a while an old school band will break through..
ex. Buckcherry-self titled CD
"check your head" got put in heavy rotation

Mtv 2 will play more Modern or "NEW" rock crap, MTV only cares about Hip-Hop and dance, and the occasional Green Day sighting

you guys seem to have it better over in Europe, Backyard Babies have never had a real record deal over here( 2 indie releases), Hardcore Superstar have none i'm pretty sure, we have a couple small labels that keep the rock n roll alive, not enough clout to put it back in the mainstream though......

ROCK N ROLL, get's almost ignored by the record industry in the U.S.,

More than Half of the Rock n Roll/Glam CD's that I buy are from outside the US,

U.S. artits playing Rock n Roll have a better chance getting their music released outside the U.S. (Izzy, Vain,Buckcherry)

the point was around 91-92 when the Faster Pussycat-Body Theif video came out is when Glam Rocks Time was over in the U.S.

Nope I disagree but, hey, the best news is, I really think its getting a revival, esp from Scanda Glam.

Hardcore Superstar, Matlocks, Louud n Nasty.

Hairglamfan. Yes, there is good music out there, but it's still getting ignored by US radio, and MTV/MTV2. It was right around '92, when grunge hit that it got ignored by all media here in the US. Since Seattle is more or less the grunge capital of the world, we here in the NW get absolutely nothing. Even the old school hair bands that go out on package deals just skip the NW. Even when we do happen to get something up ere, there is no support from radio or anything, so nobody even knows, so not many people show.
It sucks.
